Fall Break Week #2

I did it! I survived Fall break without going crazy, (maybe just a little). Both Tanner and Parker were out of school this week, and Tait thought it would be a good idea if he worked from home. Thank goodness the weather was nice because the kids enjoyed playing outside most of the time. I brought a table upstairs for Tait to set up his computers, and whatever else he needed. I think the kids forgot that he was here because they didn't bother him very much. Even though Tait was working most of the day, I really enjoyed having him home. The best part was when he would come down the stairs in the evening and say, "Honey, I'm home!"

I thought it would be fun if a couple girl friends, their children, my kids and I rented a house up at Roosevelt Lake for a night. I thought that it would break up the monotony of Fall Break. So the 3 of us girls and our 9 children, (Tanner was the oldest) packed up and drove up to the lake on Wednesday. Talk about nuts! We were there for less than 24 hours however I needed 2 days to recover from that experience. The children had a good time, but the noise level was at an all time high. The night that we arrived all of the children were outside playing when we saw the nastiest looking bug that I have ever seen. After a careful evaluation from our drunk neighbor he concluded that it was a centipede. The boys loved it!

On Saturday morning I set out to walk 20 miles in preparation for my 3-Day walk. I was able to accomplish 16 before I had to get washed up and start dinner. This morning I was so sore I could barely move. I was asked to give the closing prayer in church today and I thought that someone would have to help me from the pew to the pulpit, talk about embarrassing!

Last night my neighbors from California had dinner with us. It was so good to see them. My boys love playing with Kelly, especially since Tait hasn't been able to wrestle with them since his operation. This morning when Parker woke up he started to cry when I told him that Kelly had to go back to California. I'm thinking about flying her out here for a few days during spring break to play with the kids, and have babysitting while Tait and I go on much needed date nights. What do you think Kelly?
We had a good week. Tait goes back to the office tomorrow, and Tanner will go back to school. Parker returns on Tuesday. I'm thankful that I was able to be home during the children's school break and be able to help Tait when he needed me. Tomorrow I have a ton of housework to accomplish because I have neglected doing it for so long. The joys of being a mom and wife!
