Parker Scores A Goal & Goes To The ER

This picture is classic Hunter. Anytime someone is on the ground he will jump on top of them with no warning. (The little boy above Tanner is their favorite friend.)

Tuesday I had Activity Days at my home, 9 girls ages 8-10 came over and learned about babysitting...scary! I know that they are all too young to babysit but it is one of their requirements to sign off in their Faith in God book and I figured most of these girls are helping watch younger siblings at home. I love having these sweet girls over a couple times a month, and each time they are here I always wonder if I had that much energy when I was their age.

Tait had an appointment with the surgeon that is repairing his hernia. At the last minute I decided to go with him and my next door neighbor was kind enough to take all of the kids for me, she is so awesome. Anyways, we absolutely love his surgeon and I'm so glad that I got to meet him. Surgery is scheduled for October 2nd at 2:30. Tait will not be able to drive for 2 weeks, so the 1st week he is staying at home to rest and the 2nd week he will be working from home. I know this is selfish but I'm excited to have him here for 2 weeks. I think this will be the longest we have been together without working since we were married!

On Saturday Tanner and Parker had their soccer games. Tanner did awesome and it is always so fun to watch his games. Parker scored his first goal of the season. I was so excited! It was funny but I couldn't tell by the expression on Parker's face if he knew that he made a goal. So I asked him, "Parker do you know that you just scored a goal?" and he looked at me like I just fell off a turnip truck and said, "Yeah I know". After every one's cheers he finally started to smile. At the beginning of the game he was playing the "forward" position which means he was playing defense and had to help the goalie. His coach kept telling Parker not to leave his position until the ball comes close to him. Well, I think that Parker thought he would get into trouble if he moved so even if the ball went right past him he wouldn't move unless we told him to. I had quite a few laughs that game.

Sunday was the Primary presentation at church. Tanner and Parker did great, I'm excited for the day that Hunter can join them. It is always cute to see all those children sitting together, and never knowing what is going to happen next. I didn't see it but my friend told me that he gave his son the "I love you" sign and his son tried to duplicate it back to his father. However his attempts failed and instead proceeded to flip off the congregation for quite some time. Could you imagine?

And finally, I made another trip to the E.R. yesterday. Before Sunday dinner Parker was playing with his aunt, (Crystal I won't mention your name...oops), and somehow dislocated his elbow. Parker is known for being my drama queen so I just had him lie down for a while in hopes that he would stop crying. After about 30 minutes I took him over to my friend that is a physical therapist. After examining him he told me that he feels that I should take him into the E.R. which I did. Little Parker was in so much pain and it was even worse when the technicians were taking xrays. While Parker and I were waiting for the results I looked over and Parker was moving his fingers, then his wrist, then his whole arm. I asked him if his arm hurt and he said "no". I couldn't believe it! The doctor thinks what happened is that when the xray techs were moving Parker's arm they ended up putting his arm back in his elbow socket. When the doctor checked Parker's arm to make sure that everything was O.K. he felt a click and then said that Parker's arm is now officially back where it should be. Weird but kinda cool. $100 poorer and an hour and a half later we were on our way home.
